I had the privilege last week of attending a briefing for top resellers and consultants for Worldox concerning the next version Worldox GX3 (available some time in the first half of 2012).
Worldox GX3 will be available in three versions: Professional, which is the same thick client running off a server as exists today. For smaller firms, this will be a straight upgrade from what they have now.
But the big news is the other two versions: a fully cloud-based Software as a Service (“SaaS”) version and an Enterprise version which offers larger firms the ability to deploy within their own data center, allowing for enhanced Wide area network performance. The interface for all three versions will be identical.
Smaller firms that have offices in multiple cities will be able to go with the SaaS version and save significant infrastructure expenses.
More details will be forthcoming in the next couple of months, but this means that Worldox will be more able to compete in larger firms and firms with multiple offices without some of the limitations that exist today. In addition to the usual new features and functionality, GX3 promises to offer significant new functionality for many larger firms.

I recently accepted a new training position at a firm that uses Worldox GX2. Our attorneys are only allowed 450 MB of space on our email servers so we REALLY push the use of the Drag & Drop feature within Outook (2010). In the three months I have been in my new position I have received a number of comments on how difficult it is to find the email once it has been moved to a Worldox cabinet that is client/matter related. My suggestions have been to use the File Comments when profiling and to use the Projects feature to quickly locate their email and/or documents in Worldox. What other tips can you give me?
Thanks
