While you can’t get rid of the Word 2007 Ribbon (except via third-party programs), you can seriously augment the QuickAccess Toolbar so it functions almost like a Word 2003 toolbar.
To do this, click on the Microsoft icon at the upper left corner of Word and select Word Options (at the bottom right of that screen). Then select Customize. Select the options you want to have on the Quick Access Toolbar. Note that in addition to “Popular Commands” if you click on that option you get more advanced options, including “Commands Not in the Ribbon” such as “Adjust Margins” or “Address Book.”
Lastly if you click on the “Show Quick Access Toolbar Below the Ribbon” when Word opens, the Toolbar will display but the Ribbon will NOT display unless you click on the one of the Ribbon Menu Options.
In essence, you can restore the look and feel to Word 2003 which can be much more convenient for experienced users.

Ctrl + F1 hides the ribbon quickly(and restores)...so all you see is the quick access toolbar and the ribbon bar names.

interesting post! Microsoft is running engagement ads with a seven-second video of customers raving about Windows 7. It also invites people to fan Windows. Clicking on the ad brings people face to face with what other people are saying. I

i like this part of the post:"The burning of the festival's giant wooden statue is clearly a moment of spiritual significance for the film's subjects, but when they rely on New
Age cliches about "energy," "intensity," and "vision" to describe their feelings, the words don't resonate.
" is very good

Word 2007 now has more colorful interface, and it reorganized all the little applications. This takes a while for users to get use to it.Other good features such as live preview, which users can preview the section of the document when picking up a new font for the documents are something that I like of this.

When I add a command to the Quick Access toolbar that does not have an icon
displayed in the left panel, a generic circle icon is added to the QAT.
How can I modify that icon or any other icon on the QAT. It is confusing to
have more than one identical icon on the QAT. Any ideas
